Erik L. Lund

Erik L. Lund

Erik Lund is a partner with the firm who practices in the areas of family law, estate litigation, personal injury, commercial litigation, and real estate and construction litigation. Erik graduated first in his class (summa cum laude) from Whittier Law School in Orange County, California in 2000. He was called to the State Bar of California in 2001 and the Law Society of British Columbia in 2007.

Erik grew up in Penticton. He began his legal career in Orange County, California with a large, well known plaintiffs' personal injury firm where he worked on cases involving catastrophic personal injuries, defective automobile design, defective roadway design, environmental contamination, and insurance coverage and bad faith. During this time, he also served as a pro bono Deputy District Attorney with the Orange County District Attorney's Office's Trial Attorney Partnership. From there he moved to a boutique constitutional law firm, where his practice included representing municipalities, county governments, police officers and prosecutors in complex constitutional litigation throughout the State of California.

In 2006 Erik and his wife Stephanie moved from Orange County to Penticton. Erik joined the Law Society of British Columbia in 2007 and became a partner with the firm in 2010. Mr. Lund often appears on behalf of his clients in the Provincial and Superior Courts of British Columbia and has previously acted as a federal prosecutor for the Public Prosecution Services of Canada. He continues to represent the federal crown from time to time on civil matters.

Tyrone A. Duerr

Tyrone A. Duerr

Tyrone Duerr received a first class honours degree in political science from the University of Victoria in 1994. He obtained his law degree from Dalhousie University in 1997 and articled with Boyle and Company from 1997 to 1998. Tyrone was an associate of Boyle and Company from 1998 until he became a partner in 2005.

Since his call to the British Columbia Bar in 1998, Tyrone has practiced primarily in the areas of criminal, personal injury, insurance and estate law. He has appeared with or on behalf of his clients in all levels of court in British Columbia and handled criminal and personal injury matters for clients within the jurisdictions of British Columbia and Alberta. He has over ten years experience prosecuting drug, immigration, tax and criminal offences on behalf of the federal crown and utilizes that experience to assist those persons charged with such offences.

Tyrone was raised in Penticton and is a proud alumnus of Snowden Elementary School, Princess Margaret Junior Secondary and Penticton Secondary School.  He is an avid kiteboarder and fly fisherman, though he also enjoys mountain biking, travelling and spending time with his wife and two dogs in the outdoors.

Matters that Tyrone would be happy to assist you with include the following:

• Defending accused persons charged with offences under the Criminal Code of Canada, the Youth Criminal Justice Act, the Motor Vehicle Act, the Controlled Drug and Substances Act, the Income Tax Act and the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.
• Enforcing constitutional rights and securing constitutional remedies.
• Securing the release of accused persons on bail, varying bail, probation or conditional sentence orders.
• Representing accused persons at preliminary inquiries, trials and sentencing hearings.

Personal Injury Law

• Pursuing compensation for damages resulting from accidents of all kinds (including those involving motor vehicles or unsafe premises).
• Securing compensation for victims of all sorts of injuries or conditions including serious or catastrophic injuries or illnesses, including amputations, chronic pain syndrome, fibromyalgia, paraplegia or quadriplegia, thoracic outlet syndrome and traumatic brain injury.

Estate Litigation Matters

• Contesting the distribution of an estate or validity of a Will.
• Undue influence or trust claims against estates.

William D. Battison

After graduating from Pen-Hi in 1974, Bill obtained a BA from Montana State University, followed by law school at Queen's University.

Areas of practice include:

Kurt A. Froehlich

Kurt A. Froehlich

Kurt graduated on the Dean's List with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History from the University of the Fraser Valley in 2006, and obtained his Juris Doctor from Queen's University in 2009. During his time at Queen's, Kurt volunteered with the Pro Bono Society and the Queen's Legal Aid Clinic, and was awarded the McDougall-Watson Memorial Award for Excellence in First Year Legal Aid Casework. In his third year of law school, Kurt served as a student member of the Queen's Correctional Law Project with an assignment to Kingston Penitentiary. Kurt was also elected to serve as a representative with the Law Students' Society in each of his three years at Queen's.

Kurt worked as a first year summer student with the B.C. Ministry of the Attorney-General Crown Counsel Office. He then worked as a summer articled student and subsequently as an articled student with a medium-sized full service firm in the Fraser Valley, with a focus on litigation for the Public Prosecution Service of Canada and personal injury law, before joining Boyle & Co. in June 2010. Kurt's current areas of practice include criminal law, personal injury law, and municipal law. Kurt looks forward to providing high quality legal services to all of his clients.
